Notes and composition: learn to decipher your scent.


Top notes, heart and background, your scent evolves over time. Enter the secret perfumers.
Just as a music composer, the perfumer is inspired by notes, those he finds on his perfume organ, his creative instrument that can gather up to 3000 odors. He imagines her scent around a theme (flowers, spices, fruits and other notes) and built its olfactory structure.
We find different olfactory structures: the circle, movement, echo, spiral ... The most classic is the olfactory pyramid. The latter is divided into three grades; top notes, heart notes and base notes. The combination of these three notes creates the perfume.
It takes about 20 minutes to let the fragrance to develop on the skin after application. Hence the importance of never judging a perfume too quickly.
The top note
This is the first note of the perfume escaping. It is volatile, fresh or sparkling. On the captures from the application, it is the opening of the fragrance. In this note, we find the fresh notes, citrus and even green.
The heart note
It is the melody of the perfume and it is often called the bouquet, because the flowers found in this note. It is the primary inspiration of the perfumer and often determines the olfactory family of perfume. It appears slowly after the top note.
The base note
Intense, warm and sensual, this note is still on skin for hours. It comprises, among others, wood, amber, incense, vanilla and musk. This is the final perfume.
