Colds and flu are both common diseases and usually benign. In
general, it is useless to go see a doctor to treat the flu or a cold,
since he will prescribe drugs are usually offered at a pharmacy without a
prescription. In fact, antibiotics are powerless against viruses!
An
easy way to determine if there is a cold or flu: cold symptoms are
concentrated above the shoulders (cough, nasal congestion, sneezing,
sore throat), while for the flu is added to these symptoms of muscle pain, fever, headache and general fatigue.
Of
course, if the state is prolonged or the treatment house seems not to
end it is recommended to consult a medical professional, but why not
start with these few grandmother tips that have been proven to over the centuries:
To counter sore throat, it touts lemon or salt water juice.
We make thyme infusions, followed by addition of lemon juice and honey, and drink it all hot.
We taste a good chicken broth, ideally supplemented with some chopped garlic cloves.
We drink a lot (a lot!) Of water: it helps thin mucus, and to relieve congestion.
We make hot water inhalations added an essential oil: lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus.
It manufactures a syrup made of a house onion stuck with cloves that are cooked in a little water. Then,
we move the robot (without nails) is added 1 tablespoon of honey and a
little lemon juice, if necessary, to adjust the texture should be that
of a thick liquid. This is not very good in the mouth ... but excellent everywhere else!
We drink black elderberry 3 cups of tea (leaves and berries).
It takes a very hot bath and then is bundled up and slips the bed
We drink a grog made of dark rum or very sweet mulled wine and the addition of spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves), then sleep!
We rest: you have to sleep as much as possible for the body to use all his energy to fight the virus.
We sleep with wet bottom: some people swear by this method, which
apparently would activate blood circulation, and thus fight the virus
more quickly throughout the body.
This ensures that the air is not too dry: dry air dries out and attacks the mucous membranes, which delays healing. We light the humidifier if any; otherwise it up bowls of hot water near radiators.
It
boosts the immune system: one eats garlic, onions, ginger, we take
drops of echinacea, horseradish, fruits that contain lots of vitamin C.
