
Last November, the feminist collective Georgette Sand denounced "unfair" price differences between men and women for certain products, such as razors or services, such as hairdressers and dry cleaners. The government had mandated the DGCCRF to investigate the results of which have still not been published.
The price comparison MonsieurDrive.com it has conducted surveys of prices of 52 products (26 for women, 26 for men) hygiene / beauty in 2,200 stores 7 stores. These surveys were conducted between 19 and 26 March from prices displayed on the drive sites (internet orders removal at shop) dispensers where rates are generally the same as those proposed in radius.
The study found that on average and all categories combined products, "being a woman ... that would cost 4% more than to be a man."
On a basket of consumer goods to health and beauty, pink basket and returns to 35.4 euros 33.9 euros against the blue cart, a difference of 1.5 euro.
The difference may seem small, but actually hides "substantial additional costs" on some products, to the detriment of women but also men sometimes MonsieurDrive note.
So shave gel 200 ml will cost 15% more for a woman. The gap is widening for disposable razors: men can enjoy 12 razors to 4.7 euros, while women will be charged 5.1 euros for 10 razors or "nearly 30% of tax pink" .
Additional costs of women also appear on the face creams (9.9 euros for 50 ml for women against 9.1 for men) or shower gels (1.9 euro against 1.6 euro).
Conversely, a blue tax also exists on several products, such as shampoos (2.9 euros for a woman, 3 euros for a man) or deodorants, in which men pay on average 28% more than women .
The study, however, focused on similar products for men and women, and therefore do not take into account any "hidden costs" associated with femininity. Thus cotton, makeup remover, lipstick, etc., not including personal hygiene products, are not included in the results.
